First Look: 2022
Our thoughts, a toast, and a promise to you!
I've always been an enthusiast of New Year's Resolutions, in with the new out with the old. But last year, it felt overwhelming. We'd spent the previous year (2020) making headway in a direction that had little to do with any of the resolutions set on 12/31/19, but the thing that got me was that I didn't feel bad about it--which I usually would have.
I was an observer and survivor in 2020; I was self-reflective and looked to my values more. Early Covid, I began reaching out to as many female-led business owners and past acquaintances as possible. I wanted to hear about them, what they were feeling, and the challenges their companies were going through. Some conversations built partnerships, some brought closure, and all gave me a sense of connection and the courage to keep on.
Instead of resolutions, sometime in January of 2021, my daughter and I wrote down a list of our BIG IDEAS. We wanted progress as the base with smaller ideas to get us to the big ones. We had a few things happen out of our control that derailed our plans, but the small are making the big ideas are happen. And things happen in ways that are meant to be on a time frame that becomes a reality. And I'm grateful for this process.
Our company pivoted on connection and progressed on bigger ideas. This is our foundation, and we are looking forward to connecting with you, our customers, even more; and we have some big ideas in mind to do that! I am incredibly grateful to you for supporting our brand and connecting with us, and looking forward to 2022!
Wishing you a very Happy New Year!

Planning a New Year's Gathering? Us too!
We thought we'd share a few signature drinks for New Year's Toasts so we created one and shared a favorite!
A twist to the classic Gimlet -- usually composed of gin, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup seemed fitting for our brand, so we updated it with grapefruit juice, a sugar cube, and some Pomegranates for fashionable flair and decided to name this one, The Gigi Gimlet.
It's so simple and so tasty we drank a bit before the photo, but the drink will fill to the rim, so there is no need to add anything extra.
- Drop a handful of Pomegranates into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Add the equal parts gin and grapefruit juice, then add a splash of lime juice, and a few drops of simple syrup to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. (we like to use Tanqueray Lime instead of adding lime juice but either option works)
- Strain into the chilled glass over the Pomegranates
- Throw in a sugar cube; we love these. But classic white sugar cubes from any grocery store will also be delicious.
Citrus Pomegranate Champagne Twist
Our other favorite drink is a classic holiday cocktail from one of our most loved food blogs, Half Baked Harvest.

New Year Thoughts from us...
One of our ideas for 2022 is to introduce our incredible team and share more about how our company is set up -- keep an eye out in January for more on this -- We're starting this by sharing some of our answers to these questions;
What are you looking forward to in 2022? And/or what are you grateful for?
I am looking forward to starting 2022, as I am feeling optimistic! I also look forward to supporting my daughter's continued journey in college down in Cali! I am so grateful for all of my blessings, the most important being my family, my friends, and the good health of them all!

I'm looking forward to meeting new friends, making new memories, finding new favorites, hearing new music, learning new things, and seeing new places. And I love watching fashion trends come to life. I'm so grateful I'm back in Utah, and I wake up to the mountains out my window. I'm also thankful for the times with family and friends that I missed dearly while living in LA, and working for Gibsonlook with the best team is something I am grateful for every day!

I'm so grateful for my family, friends, and the company I work for. I would not be here today without all of you!

I look forward to making our new house our home and exploring our new neighborhood. Self-care will also be high on my priority list this year. After taking almost 3 years off of a sport I have done since I was 7, I am very much looking forward to finding a new barn and getting back into the saddle to get back to my horseback riding roots. I'm grateful for my family and the community around me, who support and teach me new things every day and help me continue growing and gaining new perspectives.
