How We Found The Miller Affect
Sometimes Influencers find us, and sometimes we find them. We are always actively searching to expand an authentic collective of content creators and women who inspire and help others.
We began reaching out to influencers to empower women but quickly realized that influencers share and provide very useful life hacks and relatable experiences, which empowered us to build on and work on more projects.
This leads us to our HOW WE FOUND series and this week we are excited to highlight influencer and friend Amanda Miller of The Miller Affect.
One of the things requested from our customers is different lengths. Shorter for petite women and longer items for women over 5'9. When we search out influencers to work with, who give our brand breath of inclusivity, women who represent this are crucial to further our design ideas and work.
Amanda provides just this type of feedback. She is 5'11, and we started working together when Amanda found Gibsonlook through our Nordstrom collections. She was already authentically wearing and sharing our dresses and tops which created the perfect opportunity to create a few items together. Amanda is stylish; she is a busy mom and always has a look that is fun but functional. She is concerned with her audience's needs and provided meaningful input for making her items versatile and seasonally wearable.
This year, and since recently moving to a colder climate, Amanda has been loving all of our cozies! and Some of her favorites (pictured below are still available--and on SALE Here.
Our first THE MILLER AFFECT item launch with Amanda was last May which is typically the season for dresses. The spring going into summer timing was perfect, and even though we were at the beginning of "stay at home" mode, the dresses were ideal for that. This versatile dress proved to be one of the best effortless items of the season, along with a cute floral short dress Amanda designed in our first go-round. (see below)
This year, we are so excited to drop this fan favorite again, and we've added even more versatility with a convertible wear option of turning the back into the front and vise versa, making the dress a mock neck or an open tie neck. And we couldn't help but update the selection and offer Amanda's signature style prints. Animal and Dots. HELLO EFFORTLESS OPTIONS!

Amanda also asked for an easy lightweight throw-over sweater to make a set that would take you from chilly days to summer nights. Wear now over the dress and later alone; we also love how cute the sweater is with shorts and because it's and open-knit, it's perfect for pleasant summer evenings.

P.S While we try to cover inclusive sizing, the past year and the changes in business have slowed the process. Before the pandemic, we were offering PXS-3X, and we aspire and are committed to get back to that.
